Even more updates on 27th Apr

Dear Scouts

Apparently, this is the season of updates. Here are a few for you guys to have a look:

1. Scout Rally Games

The categories are:

a. *Design Banner Competition
b. **Fancy Dress Competition (Cubs Event)
c. **King's Throne Event (1 Cub & 4 Scouts)
d. **Sour Grape Event (4 Cubs & 4 Scouts)
e. **Family Framboree Event (3 Families)

*Design Banner Competition - Only 5 units will be chosen from the Area for this competition.
**Teams for the Competition/Event will be representing the District. 1 team per Competition/Event.

Teams representing Area/District may be considered for Frank Cooper Sands Points.

2. Scout Rally Setting up of stalls

a. Scout skill based activities
b. Family/friends based activities
c. Sale of items/ food

For stalls type a and b, it is preferred to be mass participation as we have to deal with about min. 150 paxs per stall.

For sale of items/food - the main committee had proposed for sale of our oxgenated water, ice cream and puffs (on consignment basis). But of course, if Units have better idea, they are welcome to shared.

Prizes - all participants will be given the rally badge when they took part in the scout based activities stalls (for subsequent patronising of scout skill based stalls, they will be given another rally badge of different colours). Collar pins will be given at family based activities stalls.

Coupons - from the $5 registration fees, each Scout will be given two coupons, of which one they must go will be the scout skill based activities stalls (so that they can be given the official rally badge). Scouts can purchase additional coupons at $2 once they used up the given coupons.

For purchase of drinks/food/souvenirs, scouts will need at least 2 coupons.

Each stalls will be given a subsidy of $50 from the area.

Earnings of stalls will be based on profit sharing.

3.Tampines Scout of the Year Award 2010

The highest recognition to the most outstanding Scout in the Tampines District. Anyone has nominations? I do have some in mind but you can nominate yourself. Closing date is 31st May.

4. Rock Climbing Level 1 & 2 and Abseiling Level 1

Apparently, the costs I gave you guys on Sat were not correct. These are the correct costs for the courses:

a. Abseiling Level 1 - $55 (1-day course)
b. Rock Climbing Level 1 - $55 (1-day course)
c. Rock Climbing Level 2 - $90 (2-day course for those who went with me last year)
