Activities from Apr till June
Dear Scouts
As exams loom near, there are many things that I would like you guys to take note of.
1. District Patrol Camp [16-20Jun11] (and National Patrol Camp in Nov/Dec)
You guys need to practise!!! I will be available on Tuesday (19/4) and Thursday (21/4). I'm having similar exam dates as you guys so I understand. I will meet you guys on Tuesday to discuss on the plans. All to be present! [added by Mr Wong - Pls note that this coming weekend (22/4) starts the CCA standdown]
2. National Day Parade 2011
I will be there to help out. My main objective is to help the Foot Drill Instructors (FDIs) pass their On-Job Training (OJT). It will be a good exposure especially for the new Sec 1s. [added by Mr Wong - For the sec ones taking this up, to note that it requires quite a bit of commitment and sacrifices to your weekends and June holiday period. Ask the Sec 2s who have gone for it last year.]
3. National Exploration Challenge (Jun/Jul)
This is for you guys to experience real exploration. I will release more details when I have them. If the criterias meet, you guys can get the Explorer Badge.
4. World Scout Environment Programme
I would like to meet you guys to talk about it. Although there is no need to implement it Unit-wide, it'll be good for you guys to attempt and finish it. I would also see if I can tie in with the Water Conservation Badge for you guys to complete your National Campaign Badges. I'll be doing the project myself so no worries about it. I'll be there to guide you guys as well.
5. Personal Progression and Proficiency Badges Pursuit
As mentioned, the PLs will take you guys all the way through from Scout Standard to Advanced Scout Standard. I will do the World Scout Badge, First Class Scout Badge and the Chief Commissioner's Award. The PLs will train and test you, i'll just sign your books. Do not be afraid to take up whatever opportunities that come to you. I do hope all of you progress well all the way.
