Tampines District Scouting for Food 2013 & Extension Scout Carnival

Dear Scouts

It is our pleasure to inform you that Tampines District is celebrating our 25th anniversary this year in 2013, and there will be a series of events to mark the Silver Jubilee. The first event is Tampines District Scouting for Food 2013 & Extension Scout Carnival. Taking place in the Founder’s Day weekend, we wish to celebrate the Founder’s Day in an even more meaningful way together as a District. The Scouting for Food has its aim to receive food donations, to manage and to redistribute
non-perishable food items to the less fortunate.

Stage 1: Awareness
– To give out flyers in own schools
Stage 2: Receiving (own schools/ Tampines East CC) 11-22 Feb 2013
– To help arrange and stock check donation drop box placed at CC in afternoon - evenings.
Stage 3: Packing 18-22 Feb 2013
– Sorting and repacking of food items into carton boxes at Tampines East CC in afternoon - evenings
Stage 4: Rearranging
– Repacking of food items into carton boxes and decoration at Tampines East CC in
afternoon - evenings

Finally, on the Event Day on 23 Feb 2013 to officiate the redistribution of the collected food
items, special sharing sessions will be done by the NGO partners to enhance the learning
objective of the event. During the Event Day, there will be a carnival of game stalls setup by scouts and extension scouts. This carnival is open to all in terms of participation or setting up of stalls.

Scouting for Food receiving period : 11 – 22 Feb 2013
Scouting for Food packing period : 18 – 22 Feb 2013
Official Event and Carnival Date & Time : Saturday, 23 Feb 2013, 0930-1200hrs
Carnival fees : $1.50 per participant (including leaders)
Location : Tampines East Community Club Hall
Registration closing date : 1 Feb 2013
