Read up & practise your basic knots & lashings
Yr 2 Scouts Assignments
Find out about the different types of towers that can be constructed
Yr 3/4/5 Scouts Assignments
Find out about the different tyeps of towers that can be constructed
Construct a teaching plan for the Yr 1 scouts
Be able to construct a tower of choice with your patrol
Research on the various types of anchorage
COmpletion of Proficiency Badges
COllector Badge - If you would like to complete the proficiency badge, please do bring your items for presentation
World Scout Badge
Yr 1 scouts who have not been invested, please do read up on the World Scout Badge handout and when you are ready, there will be a written test for you to complete.
JOB WEEK CARDS
All cards are to be submitted by 01 April, Wednesday. Its your responsibility to hand it up on time!
Scouts who do not comply with the above mentioned instructions will have to bear the consequences.

Update your info in the Scout website
Dear fellow Scouts
Please go to the Scout website at http://www.scout.org.sg/ under the ONLINE REGISTRATION on the right hand side.
Other than those (most of the new Scouts[sec 1s & some sec 2s]) who have updated their particulars and info into the system at the computer lab today (28 Mar 09), the rest of you all need to go in and update your info. Please SMS me once you have done it.
You can login using your ic number, but SMS me for your password as I have reset it.
If you have not submitted your JobWeek cards, please do so ASAP to me directly by Monday as I need to return all the cards to HQ on Mon or Tues.

hellos,
i happened to hear that a few of you have given up on being a participant in ndp on the first training.im not sure how true it is but..not everyone can be involve in a national event like ndp.yet you are being selected and be part of it, i really hope you can treasure the chance given.
it is tough in terms of training and its sessions i know, you have to cope with it and make sure your studies are still doing well.but still, when it comes to the actual thingy itself, seeing thousands and thousands of people looking at you guys on the parade or even on television, im sure you will feel proud of yourself and find that everything is worth it. it is not easy, but to give up easily is not what a scout should be doing.to add on,determination is one of dunman motto as well.
the scout law and promise should be evolving in our daily lives.

timing is estimated to be from 5pm - 10pm
bring along FULL-UNIFORM and everyone is to meet after school at 2.30pm outside scout den to cut firewood for campfire.
*sec 1s investiture will be postponed.

Venue would be EastSpring Sec or both starting and ending of the first day of JobWeek.Target for Jobweek is $100 per person.The top three earners will get the prestigious"Mr-Kenny-Wong&Miss-Alia" Awards (Gold/Silver/Bronze).
You want your Bumble Bee badge? Earn it! Meeting the minimum criteriaof $100 might stand you a chance, but the precise criteria, your Leader Jiang Li will tell you all on Sat.

Night Hike
Night Hike (Southern Ridge Singapore -Kent Ridge to Mt Faber)
Tentative timing will be 6pm meet at Bouna Vista MRT control .when everyone is there, we will proceed to take a bus to Kent Ridge(Behind NUS) and start walking. Ending point is Mt Faber and everyone will go home by 10pm to take the night train from Harbour Front to Outram then to Tampines MRT or whichever station near to your home.So, please ensure that your EZ link cards have sufficient $$$. Have an early dinner before coming.

Hey, i would like to say a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Eugene and Gareth.
I am very glad to see so many ppl in campfire for the first time, hope u had enjoyed urself. I hope this would continue and make dunman scouts strong as before. Scouts who performed in the campfire, u did a great job out there on the stage. I am sure the unit has bonded more closely after this event, i saw the sec3 taking charge, trying their best in leading the troop. Great job to all the ppl who attended, hope to see those who had something important on to come for the following campfire =D
ps: someone post the pics of us, cant find my cable to my hp >.<

Date: 20th Feburary 2009 (Full Dress Rehersal)
Venue: Changkat changi Secondary School
Time: 1700 HRS
Attire: Full Uniform
Date: 21th Feburary 2009 (Full Dress Rehersal)
Venue: Changkat changi Secondary School
Time: 1300 HRS
Attire: Half- Full Uniform
ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY
Please bring along the performance material that you need to change or use.
District Field Day
as the field day falls on the same day as Dunman Care and Share Day
those participants who are involve in the games which includes reserves
are to report as follows:
Venue: Changkat Changi Secondary
Attire:Half- uniform
BRING along your PT Kit and Full Uniform
Time: 1000HRS
The events that you guys are participating are as follows:
8 Men 9 Legs
Cloth attaching both legs must be tight
Time is taken when team starts tying their legs
Time is stopped when every team member is behind the finishing linef.
Sour Grapes
Knots attaching the 2 poles must be tight
The horizontal pole must be above the 2.5m mark
Time is taken when whistle is being blown
The climber must have both legs on the ground before the nextclimber can proceed on with climbing
Time is stop when the climber touches the ground with the last item.
Tug Of War
At any point of time during the game, the first person hand shouldnot be nearer than 60cm from the center ribbon which will be marked byribbon of another colour
A win is considered when the center ribbon leaves the circle markedout on the ground.
Event Scoring Systema.
All Scout team must go thru the 3 activity.
For scout event team will be awarded point for each activity
After all 3 activities the team with the highest point will win the event.
ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY

For the campfire performing team, please note that there will be an audition for the campfire performance slots on the 7th Feb 09. Details are as follows:
Date: 7th Feb 09
Time: 0900 - 1100hrs
Attire: Wear half U & Bring the performance clothes (If applicable)
You are to return to Dunman once your audition is done. Attendance will be taken.
For the rest of the members who are not involved, you are to attend the weekly meeting in school
Time: 0830 - 1300hrs
Attire: Half uniform
THings to bring: Essential Items
All Sec 4/5s & Ventures are to attend the meeting. There will be a few crucial matters to discuss.
Ventures: Come in PROPER attire. Those who needs to submit their hike reports, this is you LAST CHANCE!! If you don't submit, it will be considered you have failed & will need to redo the whole hike again.
Should any of you have any doubts, please do ask the teachers/leaders/senior scouts.

Hi Ventures,
Currently Oneida Ventures are having dragon boating sessions every Sunday. They have invited us to join them in their training sessions.
We will be sharing a 20 man boat till there are enough numbers & certified people to have individal 10 man boats.
If you are interested in joining the sragon boating sessions, please refer to the following.
Venue: Bedok Reservoir
Day: Sunday
Time: 0930 - 1330hrs
Attire: Dri Fit Tee. shorts, slippers/sandals
Fee: $10 per month
THings to bring: Water Bottle, Change of clothes, Toiletries, Towel etc.
If you are joining, please be reminded that you HAVE TO COMMITT EACH WEEK!! There is no such thing as coming when it is convenient for you.
Please do inform me by Tuesday if you would like to join the sessions so that I can submit your names.
This session only applies to the ventures who has graduated. This is due to the strict rules placed by MOE on students & water safety.
